Recently, at the Stelliers Asia 2025 Grand Awards Ceremony held grandly at Capella Bangkok in Thailand, Chinese hotel management expert Ms. Li Xinyu was honored with the “Green Hotelier of the Year” award for her independently developed “Digital Twin-Based Hotel Carbon Emission Monitoring and Low-Carbon Optimization System”.

The award, hosted by Stelliers Asia and title-sponsored by NORDAQ, recognizes outstanding professionals in the Asian hotel industry who have made significant contributions to green practices, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and sustainable innovation.

Ms. Li Xinyu has long been dedicated to integrating cutting-edge technologies into hotel operations and management. She keenly recognized the limitations of traditional energy management methods in carbon emission tracking, real-time optimization, and ESG compliance. To address this, she led the development of the “Digital Twin-Based Hotel Carbon Emission Monitoring and Low-Carbon Optimization System”.

The system constructs a comprehensive digital twin model of hotel buildings, equipment, and operations, integrating real-time IoT sensor data with AI simulation algorithms to achieve precise monitoring of carbon emissions throughout the entire process, dynamic forecasting, and intelligent optimization recommendations. For example, it can automatically adjust air-conditioning group control, lighting strategies, and energy scheduling based on guest flow, seasonal changes, and equipment load, significantly reducing energy consumption while generating carbon footprint reports that meet international standards.

The system has now been successfully implemented in multiple high-end hotel groups, with actual results showing an overall carbon emission reduction of 28%-35% and energy cost savings of 20%-25%, while providing reliable data support for green certifications. This achievement not only improves hotels’ economic performance and operational efficiency but also offers a replicable technological pathway for the industry to practice low-carbon development and ESG responsibility, demonstrating a deep integration of technological innovation and social value.

Upon receiving the award, Ms. Li Xinyu stated: “Green transformation is the inevitable direction for the future of the hotel industry. I will continue to explore the integration of AI and sustainable technologies to drive more hotels toward carbon neutrality and contribute to responsible development in the Asian and global hospitality sector.”

The Stelliers Asia 2025 Grand Awards Ceremony, as an annual highlight in the Asian hotel industry, attracted numerous hospitality professionals from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and beyond. The event featured a black-tie gala dinner format to honor excellence across 21 categories. The establishment of this award further reinforces the industry’s emphasis on sustainable innovation.
